Epicor Prophet 21 ERP Inventory Allocation Automation

Epicor Prophet 21® Wholesale Distribution Software - Custom Inventory Allocation Automation Portal

Auto Prioritizing Inventory Allocation - this is an EXAMPLE of a custom solution intended to be used to help spark ideas, suggestions for gathering project requirements for your specific business needs.

This project supports custom logic to automate the prioritization of inventory allocation. It has a user-friendly interface that allows user to enter search criteria and then displays Auto Allocation Preview, as well as generates a report for review and approvals. Once the displayed/reported allocation is approved, the user would submit to start the allocation process.

The portal queries all active open sales orders with unallocated quantities (excluding production orders) and queries all inventory qty available and matches accordingly. Custom logic supports sales order qualification/criteria and fulfillment priority. Tool will then prioritize and suggest allocation qty and expedite date.  (Example: if multiple orders are getting allocated qty for the same item but there is not enough to allocate, then the allocation priority would be the order with the oldest order date, etc.). The tool also has a schedule to run at a future date.

NOTE: There are two current ways to update the allocation:

  • Turn off P21 auto allocation and then the application will update the line allocation qty and expedite date

  • Keep P21 Auto Allocation on and only update the header and line expedite date.
